Check exactly what is included: materials or labour only, who buys and fetches supplies, rubble removal and clean-up, and whether a second visit is charged. For electrical and plumbing work, ask whether the person is registered and will issue a certificate of compliance where one is required. Ask about guarantees on workmanship, how long the job will take and whether the quote is fixed or an estimate. A cheaper quote that leaves out half the job is not cheaper.
